Editorial policy
Content about mental health must be accurate, sourced, careful and honest about uncertainty. This is how we work.
1. Sources
We base content on guidance from public bodies such as the World Health Organization and Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower, on peer-reviewed research, and on established clinical information sources such as Mayo Clinic. Each guide lists its sources, and helpline details are checked against the providers’ own websites.
2. The self-check
Our test reproduces the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory word for word and scores it as published. Any interpretation we add that is not from the research — such as the 75-point reading aid — is labelled as ours.
3. Safe messaging
- We include crisis and support contacts on every result and guide.
- We avoid sensational language and never describe methods of self-harm.
- We encourage professional help and never discourage treatment.
4. What we will not do
- Diagnose conditions or give individual medical, legal or employment advice.
- Promise outcomes.
- Promote products or services in exchange for payment.
5. Review and corrections
Guides show their last updated date and are reviewed when guidance changes. Helpline numbers are re-checked regularly. Email hello@burnoutchecker.com with corrections; we check reports against the original source and fix confirmed errors promptly.
6. Independence and advertising
The site is published by Autonex Pte Ltd and may display advertising served by Google. Advertisers have no influence over content.
